Embroidery Showcase: Rays of Hope

Posted on November 01 2021

This week in the spotlight, we are looking at Ray of Hope!

Rays of Hope does absolutely wonderful work. Living with cancer, or watching a loved one go through it, is one of the hardest things a person can do. Thank goodness, then, that there are people like the ones at Rays of Hope who can make a difference where it is most needed. In their words:

As a direct response to the growing specific needs of people living within the local community, Rays of Hope was established in August 2015 as a community outreach project run by East Gate church in Elderslie, Renfrewshire.
Aimed at anyone with a cancer diagnosis, we offer a safe confidential environment where people can openly discuss their cancer experience with others sharing a similar journey. We provide a variety of services geared at improving the quality of life. These include exercise sessions, a walking group, social activities, craft and art classes, cookery demonstrations, a community choir, holistic therapy, counselling.
Nobody wants that diagnosis. It is almost impossible to hear. When it does happen, people like Rays of Hope make sure you are not alone. With focuses on physical wellbeing and group activities, this support group does so much to help cancer patients get involved with their community and have an amazing time doing it. Check out the awe-inspiring work they're doing here.
The Rays of Hope embroidery is one we are fond of. The rainbow, the bright colours. It stands for a hope that we should all have. A positivity that cannot falter. A spirit that can't be broken. We are proud to supply uniforms to this brave group of people.
If you can, why not donate here? It would make sure some people who are really suffering get to have a wonderful time. Thank you for reading.
